The deadline for the first-ever awards programme launched to celebrate the diabetes industry has been extended to ensure companies do not “miss out on the opportunity to be recognised”.

In response to increasing demand, companies wanting to enter into the Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) Industry Awards now have another three weeks.

The deadline has been moved from Friday, May 18, to Friday, June 8, in a move designed at easing the pressure on people wanting to get involved in an awards programme geared up to recognise excellence in the diabetes industry.

The DPC Industry Awards has been launched by the UK’s biggest conference for healthcare professionals working in diabetes, to showcase success and innovation shown bycompanies from the pharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences industries across diabetes care.

DPC has teamed up with The Diabetes Times for the awards, with the ceremony taking place in London during DPC2018 on the evening of Wednesday, November 14, to mark World Diabetes Day.

DPC founder Maggie Meer said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response to the awards so far, because until now there has not been an awards programme dedicated to companies working in diabetes care. But everybody is busy and we appreciate that, so extending the deadline will hopefully ease the pressure. We do not want anybody to miss out on the opportunity to be recognised.”

DPC launched in 2015 and last year attracted a record 3,235 delegates. The free-to-attend, CPD-accredited event is for healthcare professionals involved in the prevention, treatment and management of diabetes, and its related conditions. Free Registration is open for DPC2018, which takes place at Olympia London on November 14 and 15.
