Diabetologists sought for endocrinology and diabetes committee

Diabetologists are being sought to join the Joint Specialty Committee (JSC) for Endocrinology & Diabetes as a representative of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

Those who may be interested in the role have until Monday, August 14 to apply for the position.

The JSC brings together representatives of the RCP, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD), Diabetes UK (DUK) and the Society for Endocrinology (SfE) twice a year to share information and facilitate collaboration.

Membership includes senior officers of the parent bodies, senior and junior consultants, a trainee representative and two members from the RCP’s Patient & Carer Network. Members serve for up to four years.

Current JSC discussion topics include NHS reforms, commissioning guidance, workforce and training, service issues and making proposals for RCP conferences.

Applicants must ensure they have permission to time off from their trust. A CV and one side of an A4 piece of paper explaining how they feel they could contribute to the role must be submitted to sent to Dr Andrew Goddard, RCP registrar, c/o the committee administrator, christina.smith@rcplondon.ac.uk
