What’s your biggest challenge in diabetes today?

Keeping on top of the ever increasing number of medications for type 2 diabetes.

What’s been your biggest achievement in diabetes care?

Still being in a clinically based role as a DSN and helping develop the next generations of DSNs.

What would you like to see change in diabetes?

More resources being used to provide psychological support.

What’s been the biggest development in the last 10 years?

In type 1 diabetes, better use of insulin pumps. In type 2 diabetes, new medications which sometimes can help delay the move to insulin.

What is the best way to achieve good health outcomes with your patients?

Seeing them as people not patients!
