We have an exciting opportunity to join a supportive forward thinking team, and receive on-going development in role.

You will provide a clinical resource for development, review and delivery of existing and new training programmes, aimed particularly at enhancing the diabetes skills and knowledge of health care professional staff .

Working closely with clinical, research and administrative colleagues to deliver evidence based education, the successful applicant will have knowledge of diabetes / long term conditions and ideally some experience in teaching and education.

This role will be ideal for you if you have substantial diabetes clinical experience, are looking to develop further, and be part of a team delivering improvements in diabetes outcomes for patients.

EDEN (Effective Diabetes Education Now) has grown rapidly and is commissioned locally, nationally and internationally by organisations wishing to transform diabetes care for their patients. It is part of the Leicester Diabetes Centre, which is part of the University of Leicester and University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust

The Leicester Diabetes Centre is a busy unit, undertaking a wide range of commercial and non-commercial research projects, including a variety of drug trials and complex lifestyle studies to large randomised controlled trials for the prevention and screening of diabetes. We are one of the largest diabetes groups in the country and hold several prestigious awards including the LNR Collaboration in Leadership for Applied Research in Health and Care (CLAHRC) for the East Midlands.  We have been awarded accreditation as an education institute from the International Diabetes Federation.  The education team is committed to enhancing skills of HCP staff caring for patients with diabetes, and reducing variations in care.
