The role of the healthcare professionals in diabetes care will be the theme for the next All-Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes meeting.

It will take place on Wednesday, July 6 from 4pm and will further discuss the investigation which was launched by the APPG into diabetes care.

This will be the third meeting of this investigation entitled Diabetes Care: improving standards and reducing variation.

The focus will be on the role of healthcare professionals in addressing the variation in diabetes care seen across the country, across age groups and between diabetes types.

People with diabetes are constantly managing their condition. The relationship and support that people receive from healthcare professionals is essential to good care and management of diabetes.

The chair of the APPG for Diabetes is the Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP.

Spaces for attendance are provided on a first come, first served basis due to space limitations.

The APPG is also calling for case studies and written evidence from people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals, academics, commissioners and providers of education courses to better understand how to improve standards and tackle variations in care.

The deadline for submitting case studies and written evidence is midnight Sunday, July 31, 2016.
