Technology guide to NICE information released
An online guide explaining the new NICE recommendations on treatments and technology for adults with type 1 diabetes has been launched.
The document, entitled Type 1 Technology: A Guide for Adults with Type 1 Diabetes, has been co-produced by Diabetes UK, INPUT Patient Advocacy and JDRF with input from NICE.
It was developed to decode the guidelines and breaks down specific areas which people may have questions about.
Each chapter is dedicated to a different issue, such as injections and pumps, the appropriate length of insulin needles and flash glucose monitoring.
NICE makes recommendations about how to best treat different health conditions, including diabetes.
Its recommendations on diabetes are written by doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, and by people who have the condition or care for someone with diabetes.
