More than 70 people took part in a ‘virtual flashmob’ to raise money for a charity promoting access to diabetes technology.

INPUT asked people to text “INPU31 £5” to 70070 to give a £5 ‘bolus’ at lunchtime on May 31 and raised £370.

The event took place on the 151st day of the year to mark NICE technology appraisal 151 (insulin pump therapy).

Lesley Jordan, the charity’s Chief Executive and an insulin pump user, said: “We are enormously grateful for everyone’s generosity. This proved to be such a welcome and accessible way to donate that we will keep this method open. People can still donate a one-off £5 by texting INPU31 to 70070.”
