Best practice in diabetes management webinar to take place
Innovative approaches to diabetes care and management will be explored in an upcoming webinar discussion hosted by Roche Diabetes Care.
The event will be held during Diabetes Week on June 11 from 18:00 to 18:45, and will showcase international examples of best practice in diabetes care.
While the UK has already made great strides in the management, treatment and care of diabetes, lessons can be learnt from other countries to further improve services.
Melissa Holloway, a passionate advocate for diabetes technology access, will facilitate the event, during which attendees will have the opportunity to hear some examples of international best practice including:
- Type 2 diabetes management in primary care in France
- Improving self-management for all people living with diabetes in Panama
- Access to technology for people living with diabetes in the Netherland
The webinar will also include presentations on the approach used in these international examples, alongside details of the outcomes and benefits to people with diabetes.
Following each presentation, there will be a short Q&A to discuss potential learnings for the UK.
In support of this webinar, Roche Diabetes Care has developed a series of briefing documents providing details on additional examples of international best practice that will be shared with all participants.
Michael Goetzl, Managing Director, Roche Diabetes Care UK & Ireland, said: “Whilst we celebrate all that has been achieved in the UK in the treatment and management of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, it’s important to recognise the value of sharing international best practice examples in diabetes care.
“By looking elsewhere for examples to see what more we can learn we can continue to improve how we help people with diabetes in the UK.”
