Healthcare professionals being given the chance to gain recognition for their professionalism, commitment and hard work at a major awards ceremony.

Organisers of the BMJ Awards want clinically led teams based in the UK, who have made a major contribution to improving healthcare and outcomes for patients and communities across the country, to apply.

Now in its 10th year the BMJ Awards are the UK’s leading medical awards and is free to enter.

It was developed to promote excellence in healthcare, showcase knowledge and experience that will inspire others. It also  gives exposure to teams who demonstrate courage and passion for overcoming challenges within the medical profession.

Organisers have published several top tips on how to write a successful submission which include keeping the entry concise, but with “specific facts and figures” and to allow plenty of time to draft the content.

Once submissions have closed, the BMJ’s internal champions (mostly doctors and senior editors within BMJ) and an expert judge will shortlist all entries. Each category will have five to six shortlisted teams. The shortlist will be announced in February 2018 and teams will then be invited to present in front of an expert panel. The judging day will take place on Thursday, May 10 and winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London.

Entries close on Friday, January 26, 2018. To enter the awards, click here.
