Dates for Diabetes Wellness Days announced
Dates for the forthcoming Diabetes Wellness Days have been released.
Organised by the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation (DRWF), the award-winning events are for people living with all forms of diabetes.
The Diabetes Wellness Event programme forms an important part of the organisation’s outreach activities.
Established in 2001, the programme has gone from strength to strength in the provision of authoritative information, advice and the practical skills needed to support the best possible self-management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
A spokesman said: “We know that managing and living with diabetes can be a challenge, which is why we developed our educational event programme that bring together a wealth of information under one roof for people living with diabetes, their family members, carers, friends and those with an interest in diabetes.”
DRWF subsidises the cost of attendance as part of the charity’s annual educational event programme. There is a small registration fee of £5 per person, to help with the costs of running the event. The registration fee includes the full programme of talks and activities, access to the exhibition hall, all-day refreshments, lunch and free parking.
The days, which are now run up and down the country, provide a relaxed and informal environment where families, friends and carers are encouraged to learn about how to take an active role in diabetes self-management. They also bring together a wealth of information, expertise and knowledge all under one roof.
