Diabetes and mental health guidelines compiled
Guidelines aimed to improve the management of diabetes in people with diabetes and mental illness are to be unveiled at a conference in London.
The Management of Diabetes in People with Mental Illness in Inpatient Settings have been compiled by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Liaison Faculty and the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care.
It is the first time psychiatrists and diabetes teams have come together to work to improve the issue of diabetes management and mental illness.
The document will be launched at the prestigious International Congress of the Royal College of Psychiatrists event which will take place on June 27 in London.
Four keynote lectures and a wide range of parallel sessions have been lined up as part of the programme for the event which is free for diabetologists who register before arriving.
The congress has been awarded 21 CME credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and the American Medical Association.
