A specific Diabetes and Obesity zone will be featured at a major NHS event next month, it has been announced.

The NHS Health and Innovation Expo, which takes places in Manchester on September 5 and 6, celebrates innovation, enterprise and collaboration among the health service. It was created to unite the NHS, healthcare leaders, commissioners, clinicians and the voluntary sector.

The diabetes area has been developed to help attendees focus on the challenges presented to health and social care services by diabetes and obesity.

The Healthier You: Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) will play a key role in the zone, which will also provide delegates with a chance to explore the challenges presented to health and social care services by obesity, and the ways the NHS and Public Health England are working together to help people live healthier lives.

The zone’s theatre space will host presentations from leading figures across the obesity and diabetes spectrum on a variety of topics including prevention, behavioural change, supporting primary care to reach diabetes targets and diabetes and dentistry.

A limited number of complimentary tickets are available to NHS, local government and wider public sector staff. To claim a space, register to attend here.
