A course developed to help health professionals working in diabetes care improve their consultation skills is welcoming registrations.

The Knuston Diabetes Counselling and Empowerment Course will teach attendees the philosophy of person-centred collaborative care and its context in diabetes care.

In addition, delegates will learn new communication skills which can be applied in their everyday practice.

During the course, attendees will also develop a personal action plan to enable them to use these new skills in their workplace.

The four-day course is taking place at Sedgebrook Hall in Northamptonshire from Monday, May 20 to Thursday, May 23, and then again on Monday, September 9, to Thursday, September 12. A virtual option for the course is also taking place in October.

The Knuston Diabetes Counselling and Empowerment Course was set up more than 30 years ago by Chris Gillespie and Charles Fox to help professionals working in diabetes develop skills and apply a philosophy which encourages people to take control of their own long-term condition.
