Diabetes UK to focus on physical activity and exercise in forthcoming workshop
Healthcare professionals and people with diabetes have been invited to learn about the benefits of an active lifestyle in an upcoming face-to-face event.
Entitled ‘Diabetes and Keeping Active’, the workshop will explore ways physical activity and exercise can help a person with diabetes manage their condition.
Additionally, the meeting will discuss what exercise programmes are the most beneficial for people with diabetes and the experts will provide the attendees with tailored exercise plans to help them stay active.
Hosted by Diabetes UK and Sponsored by Sports England, the free-to-attend workshop will be held on Monday, March 21 in London.
According to Diabetes UK, one in three people with diabetes participate in less than 30 minutes of physical activity or exercise each week.
People of all backgrounds can register for the event, with Diabetes UK particularly interested in welcoming participants from Black Caribbean, African and South Asian communities.
If you are interested in attending the workshop, email Chandrabala.Shah@diabetes.org.uk with a brief summary of why you would like to attend. Registration for the event closes on Monday, January 31.
