Diagnosing diabetes to be the focus of upcoming webinar
How to use HbA1c to diagnose diabetes will be explored during an educational event later this month.
The webinar will be taking place on Thursday, June 20, between 7pm and 8pm, and it will highlight the benefits and pitfalls of using HbA1c to diagnose diabetes.
During the online event, delegates will also learn about rarer types of diabetes and when to consider thinking about them, such as LADA, MODY and type 3c.
The webinar will be led by Dr Sarah Davies – a GP Partner in Cardiff with a special interest in diabetes.
At the end of the webinar, attendees will have learned about:
- When not to use HBA1c in diagnosing diabetes
- LADA – when to consider LADA and how to diagnose it
- MODY – how to spot potential genetic diabetes
- Type 3c diabetes – what is Type 3c and the clues that make us look more closely at the pancreas.
