SUMMARY:MOVING FORWARD WITH SELF MANAGEMENT
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the Organising Committee of the Third International Conference of the Diabetes Self Management Alliance we have great pleasure in inviting you to Galway in the West of Ireland. Céad Míle Fáilte! \n#DSMA2017 will be hosted by researchers\, healthcare professionals and academics from across the NUI Galway and Galway University Hospitals campuses in association with our colleagues from the Steno Diabetes Center\, the Leicester Diabetes Centre\, colleagues in Northern Ireland and our colleagues in the Health Service Executive. The conference will take place in the Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS)\, NUI Galway. This is the 3rd conference by this International Alliance and offers an important multi- and inter-disciplinary perspective in the area of patient education research\, self management support as well as research into prevention of diabetes and approaches to helping people living with diabetes (and other chronic diseases) better manage their condition. \nSPEAKERS:\nView the speakers who are confirmed to date\, here. \nWORKSHOPS:\nWe have finalised the Workshop options for both days. When you register you will be able to choose your workshop of choice. We will do our upmost to accommodate everyone’s request. \nAIMS of #DSMA2017 CONFERENCE: \nTo bring together leading researchers and clinicians from the field of diabetes self management education (DSME) and diabetes self management support (DSMS) to broadly disseminate research and try to address challenges and research needs in modern diabetes self management and prevention.\nTo establish and strengthen a research network and create opportunities for research collaboration in the area of DSME\, DSMS and prevention by introducing the forum: Alliance for Diabetes Self-Management and Prevention – An International Collaboration.
