SUMMARY:The Society for Endocrinology BES 2015
DESCRIPTION:This year\, SfE BES has moved to the autumn and has been shortened to three days\, making it easier for delegates to attend the whole conference. Despite being shorter in length\, the quality\, quantity and diversity of sessions has been maintained\, including nine plenary lectures and 12 symposia covering a range of translational topics to suit clinicians\, scientists and nurses. This year\, a new session\, ‘A year in..’\, will be taking place on Wednesday. This year’s session focuses on worldwide progress into Type 2 diabetes. \nAs in previous years\, there will be two sessions for Nurses\, whilst Senior Endocrinologists will benefit from having their own dedicated symposium. In addition\, there will be a Debate\, four Clinical Management Workshops and an Applied Physiology Workshop. This year sees the introduction of three Futures Workshops\, focussing on developing clinical and scientific careers within endocrinology. Two Skills Workshops have been developed by the Public Engagement Committee and the Early Career Steering Group and focus on working with the media and communicating science effectively.
