SUMMARY:West Midlands Cardiovascular Clinical Network and Diabetes UK Joint Annual Diabetes Conference 2017
DESCRIPTION:Organised by the West Midlands Cardiovascular Clinical Network in connection with Diabetes UK\, this free one day conference will be a mix of presentations from keynote speakers combined with workshops and opportunity to network. \nDiabetes is under the spotlight nationally with the launch of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and the focus on diabetes treatment and care within the Improvement and Assessment Framework for CCGs and the forthcoming £44 million investment by NHS England. Diabetes is also under the spotlight locally through the development of Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP) across CCG areas. This conference will provide an opportunity to hear about the following aspects: \n\nkey information on diabetes performance across West Midlands\nNHS Diabetes Prevention Programme\nimprovements and developments in paediatrics\,\nclinical consensus statement on management of young people with type 2 diabetes\,\ndiabetic foot care\ndiabetes education\nthe developing STP plans for diabetes across the 5 STP areas in West Midlands\n\nThe conference will also provide an opportunity for you to network with clinical and commissioning colleagues and patients from across West Midlands. \nIf you would like to share your work on any aspect of diabetes treatment and care\, you can submit a poster to present at the conference. There will be prizes for the best two posters.
