Junior doctors have been invited to apply for a position with the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care (JBDS).

These unremunerated posts are designed to help refresh and update the existing guidelines that have been produced so far.

The successful applicants will be expected to work alongside, and under the supervision, of the authors of the original guidelines to systematically examine the literature and revise the guidelines where appropriate.

While there is no payment for the work done, the successful applicants will be co-authors on the guidelines, which to date have been downloaded more than a million times across the world. There is thus the opportunity to make a difference to the increasing numbers of hospitalised inpatients with diabetes.

It is envisioned that, depending on the number of applications received, one or two juniors will work on each guideline.

Ideally, prospective candidates should have the MRCP (UK), and have an interest in acute and general medicine. An interest in inpatient diabetes care is desirable./

For more information, or to submit your CV and a cover letter explaining why you’d like to be considered for these positions to please contact ketan.dhatariya@nnuh.nhs.uk. Closing date for applications is the October 18, 2019
