Job summary
The Community Diabetes Service are looking to recruit a permanent 1.0wte (37.5 hours) Band 6 Specialist Diabetes Nurse.
You will need to have previous clinical experience within this specialty.
This role will have a clinical caseload within the team. You will have excellent communication skills and be a team player, who is also able to work as autonomous practitioner.
You will establish and maintain positive relationships with others both internally and externally; to improve the patient experience and support colleagues and the leadership team to develop the future service specification and criteria.
We are looking for someone who can offer flexible and dynamic clinical expertise for this LCH priority area.
This opportunity requires the member of staff to be registered as an Adult Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
Interviews are planned for 31st of March 2025.
Main duties of the job
This role is for you if you want to
- Work within an MDT and able to communicate and escalate care as needed within the team.
- Clinical experience and appropriate skills and qualification required to advise and deliver treatment in line with service specification.
- To be accountable that the delivery of treatment adheres to current evidence /local and NICE guidance.
- Desirable qualification in Non-Medical Prescribing
- Advocate self-management in all clinical contacts
- Able to present group education sessions
- Take on champion roles to support the team in keeping up to date in clinical areas
- Ensure that clinical supervision and own learning for safe practice is kept up to date.
- Take on audit roles
- Work alongside and support the clinical leads, ensuring that safe care is provided efficiently.
