Glucose test strip medical alert

A medical warning has been issued about a specific brand of blood glucose test strips.

Healthcare providers are being asked to advise patients who use TRUEyou test strips by Nipro Diagnostics to discard or return them if they are part of a specific batch.

The manufacturers have issued a medical alert warning that certain lots of test strips may give incorrect low blood glucose results that could lead to undetected hyperglycaemia.

It has been discovered that some boxes may contain an open test strip vial, which can affect the results of the readings, however there have been no reports of any adverse events within the UK.
