A leading diabetes group is looking to recruit a talented healthcare professional to join its executive team.

The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) wants to appoint a new Honorary Meetings Secretary, with the entry deadline for the role closing soon.

The successful applicant will be able to channel their passion for diabetes care and education into key ABCD initiatives, including the organisation’s popular annual conference and webinar programme.

According to the ABCD, the role will provide someone with a great developmental opportunity by establishing a rapport and working with other key stakeholders at a senior level.

Professor Ketan Dhatariya, the next Chair of the ABCD, was once the Honorary Meetings Secretary and believes the role benefited his career.

He said: “The benefits were that I got to introduce myself to a lot of senior diabetologists – that I got to talk to them, got to invite them to talk and then learn from the best – I was never embarrassed to ask people.

“I think that getting to know colleagues, with the power of the ABCD behind you is a great asset, particularly for those who see themselves as wanting to do more within the diabetes world. I loved it.”

The deadline for applications is Friday, February 24.

To apply for the role, complete the online application form.
