New type 2 diabetes YouTube channel launched

A GP with a special interest in diabetes has launched a new YouTube channel to address key aspects of type 2 diabetes care. 

Dr Kevin Fernando has published four bite-sized and accessible videos that cover all aspects of SGLT2 inhibitors.

The available videos discuss reasons why SGLT2 inhibitors are prescribed, how they work, the common side effects and how to manage them.

Aimed at people living with type 2 diabetes, the channel will go on the share more videos on different topics, such as lifestyle advice and interventions for individuals living with the condition based on the 5 S’s guidance from the EASD and ADA consensus.

Dr Fernando said: “As always, my mantra is to make lives a wee bit easier for my colleagues in primary care but ultimately to help improve the lives of people living with type 2 diabetes, which is the aim of this channel.”

Dr Fernando is a GP Partner working at the North Berwick Health Centre, near Edinburgh.
