A leading diabetes forum has launched a new podcast to explore key inpatient care topics.

Created by the UK Diabetes Inpatient Forum, the podcast will feature renowned academics and top healthcare professionals who work in diabetes care.

‘The Inpatient Podcast’ is now available and discusses the leading topics of debate surrounding diabetes inpatient care.

The series got underway with Diabetes Nurse Consultant Erwin Castro, who is also the Chair of the Diabetes Inpatient Specialist Nurse Group.

Erwin talked all things Hypo Awareness Week, from why he gets involved and the difference it has made to his NHS Trust, to what he has planned for this year’s campaign. He discussed the dangers of hypoglycaemia and why this annual campaign is integral for healthcare professionals working in hospitals and primary care organisations. Hypo Awareness Week is an annual campaign that raises awareness of hypoglycaemia in the UK by educating healthcare professionals through printed and online resource packs.

The Diabetes Inpatient Forum Network Manager Emily Mayhew said: “This new educational podcast is going to pick the brains of leading diabetes academics and healthcare professionals.

“Each month we will discuss a new topic with an expert in that field to help us educate people working in diabetes care and those living with the condition.”

The first episode of ‘The Inpatient Podcast’ is now available here.
