The entry deadline for the annual Quality in Care Diabetes awards programme has been extended in response to coronavirus.

Oragnisers have shifted the closing date from May 29 to July 9 to allow teams wanting to enter more time, with some diabetes healthcare professionals redeployed to cope with the global pandemic.

Events Manager Debbie Tuesley said: “Quality in Care Diabetes recognises the extremely challenging situation we are all currently experiencing due to COVID-19 and the additional pressure it is placing on the incredible and dedicated people who are tirelessly delivering care in the NHS, HSC and other healthcare settings. Therefore, QiC Diabetes has made the decision to update the entry key dates.”

She added: “In these challenging times, the QiC team and supporters pass on our very best wishes and thanks to all those who are working on the front line of healthcare at this time, and those supporting them.”

The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 15. QiC Diabetes is partnered by Sanofi and supported by a host of organisations.

Now in its tenth year QiC Diabetes is open to UK & Ireland healthcare and allied healthcare professionals, NHS organisations, health and social care organisations, HSE Ireland, other healthcare organisations, patient associations, charities, professional groups, industry, public health bodies and healthcare companies.
