Healthcare professionals from around the world are being encouraged to register for Spotlight-AQ’s forthcoming CPD-accredited psychosocial aspects of diabetes webinar.

Taking place on Thursday, December 16 between 7pm and 8pm UK time, three leading speakers will take to the stage to discuss some of the hot topics of debate surrounding psychosocial aspects of diabetes management.

Professor Diana Naranjo, from Stanford University, and Candice Ward, Lead Educator for CDEP, will join Spotlight-AQ founder Professor Katharine Barnard-Kelly for the second episode of the ‘Spotlight-AQ Webinar Series’.

The webinar is free to attend, and healthcare professionals can go to all of the remaining four episodes in the series.

Hosted by Spotlight-AQ, a web-based platform designed to reduce healthcare professional burden by providing pre-clinic assessments and mapped resources to deliver patient-centred care, the five-month long webinar series will educate delegates on several psychosocial issues surrounding type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and paediatric diabetes.

Prof Barnard-Kelly said: “This promises to be an awesome webinar and I’m super excited to be joined by two amazing speakers.

“The brilliant Prof Naranjo and Candice Ward will both open vital conversations on some of the biggest psychosocial issues that impact diabetes care.”

During the second webinar, Prof Barnard-Kelly will discuss how healthcare professional burden can be reduced, while Candice is set to host a session entitled ‘Modular Diabetes Continuing Professional Development’, where she will differentiate between CPD options and reveal how to access them.

Prof Naranjo will close the second webinar with a session exploring how to identify and reduce factors contributing to diabetes stigma within routine care and beyond.

Following the webinar, attendees will be able to access four-minute bitesize chunks of each of the presentations on the Spotlight-AQ website.

In addition, delegates will be able to take a brief review test after each webinar, and claim one CPD credit. After completing all fifteen bitesize chunks, one CPD credit is available.

Spotlight-AQ is an online smart, dynamic and adaptive patient questionnaire that quickly identifies patient priority areas for discussion with their healthcare professional in routine clinic visits.

The global tool aims to enhance the mental wellbeing of those living with diabetes by signposting them to the right areas of support to meet their priority concerns.

Spotlight Consultations is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection and is translatable into any language and universally shaped to fit into any healthcare setting.
