A digital health solution that improves physical and mental health outcomes for people with diabetes will be officially launched at the Diabetes Professional Care (DPC) conference on 10 and 11 November 2021.

Burnout in people with diabetes and healthcare professionals is at an all-time high. The traditional model of healthcare, where an ‘expert’ healthcare professional dishes out advice simply does not fit the reality of diabetes management. NICE has long advocated a collaborative, patient-centred approach to supported self-management. Spotlight-AQ delivers that care, putting the priority concerns of each individual at the heart of the discussion, enabling healthcare professionals to provide the excellent quality care they want to.  It’s a win win for diabetes.

Founded by world-leading expert and professor of health psychology, Katharine Barnard-Kelly, Spotlight-AQ is an innovative solution to the challenges faced in routine care by people with diabetes and healthcare professionals. It sets out a clear care plan to address the biopsychosocial needs of each individual that can be revisited by both healthcare professional and patient at any time; providing precision healthcare for all.

Professor Barnard-Kelly said: “Spotlight-AQ was built by and for healthcare professionals, delivering the quality of care they strive for has been our goal from the start.

“We have designed our services to fit with current workflows and reduce healthcare professional burden whilst delivery world-class healthcare for improved physical and mental health outcomes for people with diabetes.”

She added: “We are thrilled to launch Spotlight-AQ during the DPC conference as it is a great place to introduce the global tool to healthcare professionals from across the UK.”
