The exceptional work undertaken during the unprecedented pressure of COVID-19 will be reflected, recognised and celebrated at the forthcoming Quality in Care (QiC) awards.

The awards have been recognising, rewarding and sharing initiatives that improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes since 2011.

This year a new online entry portal has been launched in addition to two new entry categories.

A spokesperson said: “This is a great opportunity to win one of the prestigious awards this year and have your work shared and disseminated to a wider healthcare setting.”

The Equality and Diversity – Reducing Variation of Care and Outcomes particularly as it relates to Socioeconomic, Cultural or Racial Determinants  will explore how someone may have identified and successfully addressed issues related to equality and diversity.

The Diabetes Collaborative Project of the Year will recognise the value of outstanding collaborative team achievements and contributions that help better prevent, diagnose or treat diabetes and support self-care management to improve the experience and outcomes for children, young people and emerging adults with diabetes and/or their families/carers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

People working from the field of diabetes throughout the UK and Ireland are invited to submit an application. Judging will take place on September 7 and the QiC Diabetes 2021 Awards presentation will again take place as a livestream event on Thursday October 14.
