A leading type 1 diabetes website which provides mental health support and products to those living with the condition has delivered £2.3 million worth of diabetes supplies to Ukraine.

Since March 2022, Type One Style has been asking the diabetes community to help tackle the diabetes crisis in Ukraine by donating vital supplies.

GlucoRx and Bunzl have made some “extremely generous” donations after Type One Style highlighted how people living with type 1 diabetes in Ukraine are in danger of running out of life-saving medications.

The type 1 diabetes organisation has now donated “countless” test strips, CGMs and blood glucose monitors to Ukraine, as well as a handful of ventilators, operating equipment and advanced trauma kits.

Charlie Cawsey, founder of Type One Style, said: “Supporting the diabetes community, wherever they are, is a core part of what we do.

“We have been packing and delivering donated aid to Ukraine for 125 days now. Knowing that we are saving the lives of people with the condition who are amid the conflict is fantastic.”

He added: “It is an honour to provide Ukrainians with essential supplies as without our help their health would rapidly deteriorate, and their life would be at risk.”
