Healthcare professionals are being invited to attend an online event next month to learn more about managing type 2 diabetes.

The webinar has been designed to explore the latest NICE guidance for managing type 2 diabetes. This is an educational webinar sponsored by AstraZeneca.

In this session, the cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic approaches recommended by NICE will also be highlighted.

Additionally, real-world case studies will be shared to help delegates navigate the multiple treatment options available.

It will take place virtually on Wednesday, October 9, from 7pm to 8pm, and Dr Sarah Davies, a GP Partner in Cardiff with a special interest in diabetes, will lead the discussions.

The webinar will help attendees:

  • Understand the latest NICE recommendations for managing type 2 diabetes
  • Manage type 2 diabetes effectively early after diagnosis and to emphasise the importance of glycaemic control and cardiovascular risk reduction
  • Understand strategies for managing more complex cases of type 2 diabetes later in the course of the disease
  • Explore the safe use of SGLT2 inhibitors and other medications in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
