NEUROdiab seeks sixth member for Youth Committee
NEUROdiab is inviting applications from early career researchers to become the sixth and final member of its Youth Committee, with applications closing on 22 September 2026.
The group, which focuses on diabetic neuropathy, established its Youth Committee in 2024 as part of its longstanding commitment to supporting the participation and development of young researchers.
The committee is tasked with encouraging initiatives by and for younger NEUROdiab members, with a particular focus on education, research training, communications, web activities, membership and other priorities identified by early career researchers.
Since its creation, the Youth Committee has delivered a series of initiatives, including well-attended webinars and a debate at the NEUROdiab Annual Meeting in Bucharest, which was followed by an associated publication.
It has also produced newsletters highlighting key developments from the two most recent Annual Meetings and presented meeting highlights from an early career perspective at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD).
Another initiative, Hallmark Papers, has showcased historically important research in the field of diabetic neuropathy. This year, the committee is also delivering NEUROdiab’s first pre-congress workshop specifically for early career researchers.
Supporting young researchers has been a priority for NEUROdiab since its foundation, with the organisation providing opportunities through its Publication News, awards programme and representation of younger researchers within the faculty of its Annual Meeting. More than 50 researchers applied for its Best Presentation Awards last year.
NEUROdiab is now looking for one additional member to complete the Youth Committee, with the successful applicant serving a three-year term.
Those wishing to apply will need to complete the Youth Committee application form and provide their full name, degree or degrees, institution, postal address, telephone number, email address, year of joining NEUROdiab, and date and place of birth.
Applicants are also asked to provide a biographical and educational summary, including the university they attended, their highest degree, the year it was conferred and their field of study. The application should include details of relevant research and/or professional experience, together with an explanation of the applicant’s reasons for wanting to join the Youth Committee.
A short CV of no more than two pages should also accompany the application.
Applications will be evaluated by the Youth Committee coordinators and the NEUROdiab Chair.
The deadline for applications is 22 September 2026. Completed applications and CVs should be sent to neurodiab.eu@gmail.com and didang@auth.gr.
