ABCD launches regional meetings for multidisciplinary care teams
An “ambitious programme” of regional ABCD meetings for diabetes multidisciplinary care teams are being planned for 2020, it has been announced.
Each event will be free to attend and will deliver high-quality education from leading diabetes experts. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and will be limited to around a 100 people so those who wish to attend are being urged to register early.
The first meeting will be at Pontefract Racecourse in Yorkshire on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. The next one will be held at the Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport NEC on Wednesday, June 3.
The programme for the day will involve a series of sessions on issues that matter day to day, which include, living with diabetes, foot and renal complication management, GDPR and its relevance to community care and cardiovascular outcome studies in diabetes.
Practical sessions on how to best use and interpret new diabetes technology such as flash glucose monitoring systems will also take place.
Dr Dinesh Nagi, Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology and ABCD’s Chairman, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to receive up-to-date diabetes CPD and to network with colleagues in their region. We’ve developed an ambitious programme of meetings which are aimed at the MDT as a whole, including primary care teams and hospital specialist teams treating people with diabetes. We urge those who wish to register early to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited.”
