Consultant podiatrist discusses the potential impact of new antibiotics on footcare in latest Big Interview

A diabetic footcare specialist has talked about the developments in the field of acute footcare and the challenges of saving people from limb threatening conditions.

Richard Leigh, Consultant Podiatrist at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, joined DT Editor Oliver Jelley for the latest Big Interview.

Mr Leigh, who is chair of the English Diabetic Footcare Network, clinical lead for NHSE (London) and co-chair of the London Foot Care Network and the Work-stream for NHSE (London), talked about his greatest accomplishments and coping with the pandemic during the wide-ranging interview.

He also discussed his latest research priorities, including a focus on bone infection and analysing new antibiotics and the way they are delivered into the foot.
