Diabetes campaign launched

A campaign supported by The Guardian was launched to help support people with diabetes.

Understanding Diabetes was developed by MediaPlanet and the digital platform went live on World Diabetes Day (November 14). The Guardian published a supplement, which was also distributed at DPC2018.

The website, which has been endorsed by celebrities such as Phil Vickery and Lee Latchford Evans, features real-life case studies, diabetes-related figures and advice on the best way to manage the condition.

There are also videos, news stories and dietary advice on the site with many people discussing the newly launched platform on social media using #diaBEATit.

A second edition of a National Understanding Diabetes Campaign will launch in December. Consisting of a 16-page, expert-led print publication, with hard copies sent to various events, conferences and meetings and distributed digitally. The campaign will end in March with the Diabetes UK Professional Conference 2019 in Liverpool.
