Healthcare professionals with an interest in diabetes are being invited to attend a conference and awards ceremony about structured education.

The event is being run by X-PERT Health, which provide programmes based upon the theories of patient empowerment, discovery learning and patient-centred care.

Educate not Medicate takes place on Wednesday, September 28 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

The aim of the conference is for commissioners, managers, healthcare professionals and educators to acquire tools and tips to commission and deliver successful structured education programmes.

They will also have the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of X-PERT Educators who have been awarded for achieving best practice and obtaining outstanding results.

Attendees will also get a chance to learn about the different types of technology which will help to drive forward structured education in the future.

Father and son duo Anthony and Geoff Whitington have been confirmed as keynote speakers.

They will discuss how they managed to reverse the progression and development of complications of their type 2 diabetes through education and lifestyle.
