Applications are being sought for a project to improve access to medical technology for adults with type 1 diabetes.

The role, a Darzi Fellowship, will involve working with secondary care diabetes teams across Kent, Surrey and Sussex to improve diabetes services and access to insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring devices.

The project, which aims to reduce variation in access for patients across the region, has been shortlisted for the Darzi Fellowship programme in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The closing date is January 23.

It has been adopted by the Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network collaborative approach to improving clinical outcomes and quality of life for adults with type 1 diabetes

The regional role requires both systems leadership and clinical leadership capability. There will be mentoring and guidance from two senior sponsors, Sadie Leack and Dr David Lipscomb.
