DPC launches healthcare annual survey
A survey to gain more insights into diabetes care among healthcare professionals in a bid to raise standards has been launched by Diabetes Professional Care (DPC).
The inaugural poll, developed by the founders of the UK’s only free-to-attend, CPD-accredited conference for diabetes healthcare professionals, is open to anyone working within the field.
There are only seven questions to answer and the survey takes no more than 10 minutes to complete.
DPC founder Maggie Meer said: “We’ve launched the DPC Annual Survey as we want to know more about how healthcare professionals working within the field of diabetes view the level of care and services that are currently available.
“We know how busy everyone is, so we’ve purposefully made the survey simple with just seven succinct questions. It will give those taking part the chance to report back about staffing levels, structured education and frequency of reviewing patients’ medication.
“We’re hoping to find some trends among the findings and we’ll use the data to introduce workshops or presentations to address the main concerns that the healthcare professionals have raised.”

Maggie and her team continue to finalise plans for the next DPC, which once again takes place in Olympia, London, on November 14 and 15.
Meanwhile, Toby Baker, DPC’s event director, has been speaking to The Diabetes Times about what visitors can expect from this year’s event.
He said: “We’ve added a number of new features and elements to the event, which I think will really enhance the learning opportunities and sharing of best practice among our visitors, and for their teams in practice.
“Visitors can look forward to a number of really special sessions, which will run as double length slots and will give them new learning opportunities they can’t get anywhere else.”
Toby said planning the event – which last year attracted more than 3,200 visitors – takes a year and even during the conference the team are gathering feedback to ensure the next one is even better.
He added: We take the time to listen to all the stakeholders in our sector, including patients, healthcare professionals and industry; this enables us to provide relevant and valuable content to our visitors.
“We urge anyone who has an interest in diabetes to attend Diabetes Professional Care 2018, even if it’s just for a few hours. We believe it’s crucial that everyone takes the opportunity to gain knowledge and share experiences with their colleagues and leading practitioners from around the UK.”
