Diabetes Professional Care 2019 (DPC2019) and the Diabetes Times have once again joined forces, with the shared goal of improving diabetes care through information provision.

The conference and news outlet have pledged to build on a successful five-year partnership by increasing access to their free education and news across the NHS.

The Diabetes Times is working in partnership with DPC to ensure that their wide audience, which has more than 14,000 email newsletter subscribers and 20,000 hits a month, receives all the important info and updates about the event. The online news publication is also co-hosting the DPC Industry Awards, which returns for its second year.

DPC founder Maggie Meer said: “DPC has developed to become the UK’s largest and most accessible diabetes conference for healthcare professionals, and so it was the logical step to team up with the leading diabetes news publication for everybody working within the industry.

“I’ve known Editor Oliver Jelley for a long time and I know how passionate, hardworking and honourable he is, so it’s a pleasure to work alongside him every year. We both have one goal and that is to ensure those working within healthcare are providing gold standard diabetes care up and down the country.”

Oliver Jelley, who launched the news platform in 2014, said: “It’s a huge honour to once again work in partnership with Maggie and the Diabetes Professional Care team. Our long-standing partnership is very important to us at the Diabetes Times and this year it will be very exciting reporting from the show which promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

“The feedback and stories we receive from our readers, who are all healthcare professionals, help us to set our news agenda. Having seen the programme for DPC2019 it’s clear the team are focussing on some of the key objectives being discussed among those in the diabetes sector. This year there’s real emphasis on multi-disciplinary working, prevention, type 2 diabetes remission and individualising care for people with diabetes.”

DPC and Diabetes Time will also be hosting the second annual Industry Awards this October, to recognise excellence, innovation and commitment to better diabetes care shown by organisations working in the diabetes industry.

DPC is the UK’s largest free-to-attend, CPD-accredited conference for healthcare professionals working in diabetes care.

Due to increased demand, the conference is moving to a larger hall within Olympia London, when the two-day show will open on October 29.

A series of CPD-accredited clinics will be at the heart of a revamped programme, with the inclusion of practical and real-world sessions, take-away resources and for the first time ever the patient will have a voice over the course of the two days.

Registration is free for all healthcare professionals, so register online now or call 023 8081 1551 too book your place.
