Applications are open for a free programme aiming to inspire diabetes specialist nurses (DSNs) and dietitians to become leaders of the future.

The Diabetes UK Tomorrow’s Leaders Programme is a free leadership programme for DSNs and dietitians to give them the skills and knowledge to lead improvements in diabetes care.

The three-day programme was developed and is delivered in partnership with Leicester Diabetes Centre and TREND-UK.

Suraiya Chowdhury, Diabetes UK’s Healthcare Engagement Officer, said: “We are also very excited to announce that we will be launching our Tomorrow’s Leaders Programme in Belfast for the first time in October this year and will be running another one in Leicester later on in September. More information about the programme, including dates and application forms is available on our website.”

Feedback from delegates suggests 100 per cent of attendees would recommend the event to other DSNs and dieticians looking to increase their knowledge and skills as a leader.

One commented: “Excellent. A course that delivers a service improvement with support. I have the lever to make a service change now and also feel more confident/empowered by the other peers on the course. Very motivating.”

Applications are open until 29 July. For more information and to apply, click here.
