A leading diabetes specialist nurse organisation has published management guidance on diabetes and enteral feeding.

TREND-UK has released the booklet in a bid to help people with diabetes established on an enteral feeding regimen, and those who care for them, manage their condition safely and effectively.

The guidance also explains why enteral feeding is needed in certain circumstances, how the feed may affect blood glucose levels in people with diabetes and how to manage enteral feeding combined with insulin treatment to maintain safe blood glucose control.

It is broken down into sections to cover the different types of diabetes, insulin therapy, managing and monitoring blood glucose levels.
