A major conference which has a new direction to advance collaboration across cardiovascular, renal and metabolic care has announced the first experts joining its speaker line-up for 2026.

Dr Kevin Fernando, Portfolio GP with an Extended Role in Diabetes, Dr Lisa Anderson, Consultant Cardiologist, and Dr Andrew Frankel, Consultant Physician and Nephrologist, are among the first speakers confirmed for CVRM Professional Care, taking place at Olympia in London on October 20 and 21.

Further experts joining the speaker line-up include Beverley Bostock, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Dr Mimi Chen, Consultant Endocrinologist, Dr John Patterson, GP Clinical Advisor for NICE, Victoria Ruszala, Specialist Pharmacist in Cardiology and Heart Failure and Professor Debasish Banerjee, Consultant Nephrologist.

The newly released programme offers an early insight into the breadth of topics set to be explored during the event’s inaugural year, with sessions covering finerenone in clinical practice, SGLT2 inhibitors beyond diabetes and the growing challenge of fatty liver and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

The agenda underlines CVRM Professional Care’s ambition to move beyond traditional speciality boundaries, championing a more joined-up model of healthcare where cardiovascular, renal and metabolic expertise are brought together to better reflect the reality of patient care.

The refreshed format is designed to give delegates the space to deepen expertise within their own discipline, while also encouraging cross-specialty learning and a broader understanding of the interconnected nature of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions.

Matt Hodgins, Event Director for CVRM Professional Care, said: “This event marks a change in how we bring cardiovascular, renal and metabolic care together.

“It is about creating an environment where specialists can step outside of their usual settings, exchange ideas freely and build the kind of relationships that drive progress well beyond the two days in October.”

Julia Dowden, Content Manager for CVRM Professional Care, added: “The agenda has been carefully built to bring together all the specialisms into a single, cohesive programme.

“We want to ensure each element feels connected, so delegates can move between topics and disciplines in a way that reflects how these conditions overlap in real clinical practice.”

Organised by CloserStill Media, CVRM Professional Care will bring together diabetes, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists in one place, with four high-impact theatres spotlighting: prevention, innovation, therapeutic advances and integrated care pathways, making it the UK’s largest event focusing on the holistic care and management of long-term conditions.

Further speakers and sessions will be announced in the coming months, with the programme continuing to develop ahead of the event in October.
