Early detection of type 1 diabetes will be the focus of a first-of-its-kind summit taking place in June.

Entitled ‘Type 1 diabetes early detection summit’, the two-day session will take place on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10, in Birmingham.

The key learning points will include early detection, monitoring, clinical care and disease modifying therapies for pre-symptomatic type 1 diabetes.

This event is targeted at doctors, nurses, dieticians and other healthcare professionals with an interest in type 1 diabetes. Accommodation for delegates will be covered, the organisers have announced.

Professor Parth Narendran, Professor of Diabetes Medicine and Consultant at University of Birmingham, said: “We are very proud to be hosting the very first type 1 diabetes early detection summit.

“This event aims to help healthcare professionals keep up with this rapidly evolving space in type 1 diabetes management.”
