First wave of ABCD FreeStyle Libre audit completed
Data for nearly 3,000 people was collected for the first stage of the ABCD FreeStyle Libre audit, organisers have announced.
The nationwide survey was developed to get a real-world view of the FreeStyle Libre in adults and paediatric patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Dr Bob Ryder, Website Co-ordinator and Clinical Lead for ABCD Nationwide Audits, said: “We wish to thank all those who worked so hard to submit data in time for our first deadline, and we are pleased to inform you that we had 216 users from 127 sites in 100 centres contributing data on 2869 patients.”
Analyses are now being undertaken for abstract submission to the American Diabetes Association Annual Professional Conference, but the audit is still ongoing.
Dr Ryder said: “Centres may analyse their own data using the tool and this is an excellent project for a junior doctor or medical student and of course DSN’s and medical secretaries and indeed anyone involved in the management of diabetes may wish to be involved.”
