The Diabetes & Obesity Pharmacy Alliance is launching a series of free webinars to help pharmacists navigate the evolving landscape of diabetes and obesity care, with sessions exploring injectable therapies, medicines optimisation and the complexities of patient care.

As the prevalence of diabetes and obesity continues to rise and treatment options advance, pharmacists have an increasingly important role in prevention, early intervention, patient education and long-term disease management.

The webinar series will provide an opportunity for pharmacists to expand their clinical knowledge, explore emerging therapies and share approaches to improving outcomes for people living with diabetes and obesity.

Two webinars have been announced, covering the use of injectable therapies in cardiometabolic care and the often-overlooked complexities of disordered eating and substance misuse in people receiving treatment for diabetes and obesity.

The first webinar, Injectables in Cardiometabolic Care: Optimising Use, Managing Demand, will be led by Hannah Beba on Thursday 26 November, from 7pm to 8pm. The session will explore the use of injectable therapies in cardiometabolic care, with a focus on optimising treatment and managing demand.

The second webinar, Hidden Complexity in Diabetes and Obesity: Disordered Eating, Substance Misuse and GLP-1 Therapy, will be led by Dr Zoe Kolokotroni on Thursday 3 December, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. The session will examine some of the complex issues that can influence diabetes and obesity management, including disordered eating, substance misuse and the use of GLP-1 therapies.

Both webinars are free to attend and are designed to support pharmacists in developing their knowledge and confidence in this evolving area of practice.
