DDM Health’s flagship specialist weight management service has been nominated for a top accolade.

The Gro Health W8Buddy platform has been shortlisted for a Health Service Journal (HSJ) Digital Award.

Launched in September 2022 for tier three weight management services, the W8Buddy digital support tool is in the running for the Empowering Patients Through Digital prize.

The platform, which can be accessed via phone or desktop, was recently endorsed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

The HSJ Digital Awards recognise work carried out to transform care delivery, enhance efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

Arjun Panesar, AI expert and Chief Operations Officer at DDM Health, said: “The nomination is both a milestone for DDM Health and testament to our commitment to revolutionising weight management and type 2 diabetes with precision digital/virtual interventions.

“Gro Health W8Buddy, being NICE-recommended, embodies our mission to deliver personalised, evidence-based healthcare that significantly improves the lives of those we serve.”

He added: “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust and are eager to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare innovation.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on Thursday, June 6.
