The Low Carb Program is the highest-rated diabetes management app, according to the world’s leading health app evaluation and advisor organisation. 

Developed by Diabetes Digital Media (DDM), the Program is a multi-award-winning, evidence-based behaviour change platform for people with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes and obesity.

Orcha reviews apps in a bid to help governments, health and social care organisations choose and deliver health apps that will safely make the biggest impact in terms of improving outcomes.

Having tried out the Low Carb Program, the Orcha review gave it a 91% score overall and 100% for clinical assurance.

In addition user experience was rated at 88.9% and data privacy was scored at 76.5%.

The Low Carb Program app is available via the NHS Apps Library and has been approved to meet NHS quality standards for safety, usability and accessibility. It also has QISMET approval for all programme streams meaning it can be prescribed on the NHS.

The Low Carb Program helps users to make lifestyle changes that can improve their health. It offers advice on how to manage diabetes and information on all aspects of the condition.

The information can be personalised depending on the person’s needs and covers sleep, stress, mental health, stopping smoking and blood glucose testing.

A team of mentors help participants to set achievable targets and offer advice and support to help them reduce their blood glucose and cholesterol levels, as well as their weight.

Thousands of recipes and meal plans are also available, as as well as support from a global community of more than 400,000 people.
