Nominations open for Young Researcher award

Young researchers who are dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes are being given the opportunity to showcase their innovation in a major award.

The International Diabetes Federation European Region (IDF Europe) is giving young people working within diabetes research the opportunity to promote their work across the continent and around the world with its annual Young Researcher award.

The accolade gives the winner the chance to showcase their work to the global diabetes community through IDF Europe’s communication channels.

The winner will be invited to present their work at the IDF Europe Regional Meeting, to be held in Abu Dhabi in December 2017 and will receive €2,000 prize money plus €5,ooo to donate to a chosen charity as well as a commemorative plaque and a certificate.

Only peers of the researcher can nominate and they must be a healthcare professional, aged under 40 years and are involved in innovative patient-oriented research in diabetes and/or complications of diabetes.

Their work should demonstrate their commitment to diabetes research leading to improved health outcomes for people with diabetes.

Applicants will be notified of the decision of the Selection Committee by 31 October 2017.
