There will be high-profile speakers, the sharing of good practice, a national update and the latest research news in the field. The cost to attend is £35 per delegate.

This event and network is for anybody working in, or with an interest in, the area of older people with diabetes.

The OPDN was launched in 2011 by the Institute of Diabetes for Older People (IDOP) in partnership with NHS Diabetes. However, as both organisations are now closed, Professor Sinclair has fought to safeguard its future.

It is hosted by Diabetes Frail, a not-for-profit organisation, which is led by Professor Sinclair and dedicated to excellence in care for older people with diabetes.

Professor Sinclair said: “We are delighted to finally be in a position to stage this important National Conference of the OPDN. The continuation of the network is a crucial step in ensuring good practice involving the care of older people with diabetes to spread nationally. We hope you can join us.”

The network brings together health and social care professionals who share the aim of ensuring older people with diabetes get the best possible care. It allows the two-way sharing of good practice, research, news and developments in this field.
