Recent advances in diabetic neuropathy to be explored in upcoming webinar

A free online webinar organised by NEUROdiab, the international Diabetic Neuropathy Study Group, will take place next month.

Chaired by Doctor Stephanie Eid, the session will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 6pm to 7.15pm (BST UK), 1pm to 2.15pm in Eastern Time (ET).

Diabetic neuropathy is a common yet often underdiagnosed and undertreated complication of diabetes, affecting millions worldwide.

This expert-led session, hosted by the NEUROdiab Youth Committee, will explore the latest research using rodent models to better understand and tackle this condition.

Speakers:

  • Professor Doug Wright from the University of Kansas will discuss the STZ model, highlighting insights gained, translational studies, and the outcomes of failed clinical trials
  • Professor Eva Feldman from the University of Michigan will explore additional rodent models such as db/db and high-fat diet (HFD) mice, and discuss emerging models.
