Webinar helped people with diabetes to ‘build resilience’ post pandemic
Experts came together online to help people with diabetes “build resilience” and learn techniques to help better manage their stress post pandemic.
The webinar entitled ‘Building Resilience‘ was hosted by Roche Diabetes Care and took place on Thursday, May 27 at 1730 BST.
The agenda featured discussions about stress and neurobiology, how stress affects diabetes, how to take control and also introduced strategies that can help people to build resilience.
A Roche spokesperson said: “The uncertainty and fears due to the Covid-19 situation can be overwhelming, especially for people dealing with chronic conditions such as diabetes on top of everything else. Building resilience may help us all to manage our stress and anxiety factors. Attendees of the webinar became part of the global diabetes community, a safe place where each one of us can seek and provide support to each other in our journey to build resilience.”
Attendees heard from Scott Johnson who talked about how the mySugr app changed the way he managed his diabetes. He was joined by Cecilia Juhlin, Roche’s Learning and Organisational Development Partner, Solveig Rabe, Health Promotion Coordinator at Roche and Joerg Weissmann, Head of Global Medical Value at Roche Diabetes Care.
